Singo Pear - Xin Gao Pear 新高梨

Xin Gao Li from China is also known as Singo Pears from Korea taste like an apple and a pear together. The creamy white flesh of the pear is incredibly soft and juicy with a sweet low acid taste, aromatic scent, and slightly sour at the core. Unlike conventional pears, they are ready for consumption as Shingo pears are marketed ripe. Because of their high water content, which makes them low in calories, they are peeled and savoured raw as a dessert or snack, eaten raw in salads, and used as a sweetener in the cooking and marinating process in the Korean household.

STORAGE

Singo pears are often referred to as "apple pears" due to their appearance and texture. Korea Singo pears are not a hybrid of the two fruits. Korea Because of their high water content, singo pears are best eaten fresh and should not be prepared. Korea Singo pears are large and easily damaged. They may be stored in a cool, dry place for a few weeks.

How you choose pears is determined by our eating timeframe. If you want to find a ripe pear to eat right away, gently push a finger into the top of the pear, exactly where the stem meets the fruit. The fruit is ripe when it barely begins to yield there. Soft pears should not be purchased elsewhere since they are overripe and the flesh will be mushy and mealy. If you want to consume the pears within a few days, the top should still be firm.
