These 100% organic and pesticide free pea shoots are a fast growing vegetable that germinates from pea plants. They are crunchy, taste slightly sweet and juicy and can be eaten in a variety of ways. Uncooked, they taste earthy, crunchy and almost a little grassy. Cooked sprouts, on the other hand, lose their earthy flavour and absorb the aromas of the herbs and spices surrounding them.

STORAGE

You can significantly extend the life of sprouts by vacuum packing them in the refrigerator. However, remember that nutrients and consistency are quickly lost if food is left unused for a long period of time.

These stir-fried pea shoots with garlic are a guaranteed treat if you're looking for the quickest way to get a vegetable side dish on the table. Use a large wok or wide pan to prepare them, as a bag of raw pea shoots has a huge volume, but this reduces drastically when cooked. Heat the oil in a wok over high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and add the garlic so it doesn't burn. Increase the heat to high and add the dried pea shoots, chicken stock powder and salt. Plate immediately after stirring for 1-2 minutes or until slightly wilted.
